
About the award
The InterMundial Foundation, together with Tourism&Law and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), announces the sixth edition of the Hotel CSR Award with the objective of distinguishing hotels that carry out outstanding actions aimed at improving their social, economic and environmental environment.
Corporate Social Responsibility is an essential section in all business management. It allows us to control, in a sustainable way, the impact that the company generates on its customers, employees, suppliers, local communities, economy and the environment. The RSC Hotelera Award recognizes this sustainable management of hotels.
This badge was created in 2012 with the objective of recognizing the efforts made by Spanish hotels in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility. This Award is awarded every two years coinciding with the celebration of the Congress of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT).

Categories
It recognizes those solidarity actions undertaken to contribute to the improvement of our society, whether through donations, training, recreational proposals, initiatives to care for groups at risk of social exclusion, etc.
It highlights actions aimed at reducing the environmental impact generated by the hotel business: minimizing waste generation, rationalizing the use of natural and energy resources, etc. It also distinguishes those proposals aimed at combating climate change, improving the natural environment and conserving flora and fauna.
It distinguishes those actions aimed at promoting the responsible growth of the company, following the principles of sustainable production and consumption. It also values the initiatives that hotels carry out to improve the quality of life of their employees, in addition to actions aimed at ensuring consumer protection and their rights.
In this edition, the organization of the Hospitality CSR Award launches a fourth category to distinguish those hoteliers who have excelled in their business performance due to their special alignment with the values promoted by CSR. This Special Prize will be awarded at the proposal and discretion of the Jury, making it clear that CSR affects not only companies, but all individuals.
Who can participate
Those hotels that have implemented Corporate Social Responsibility actions in the last two years and that are associated with a Federation or Association member of CEHAT may submit their nomination for the award.
Submission Deadline
The registration period for the sixth edition of the Prize will open on Tuesday, October 17 and will end on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The Jury, formed and convened on the occasion of the Prize, will choose the winners, whose names will be announced during the Congress of Spanish Hoteliers, which will be held in Mallorca from 22 to 24 November 2023.
Assessment Criteria
The criteria that the Jury will have to take into account when presenting its candidates for each category are:
- Originality of the proposal
- Achievement of the objectives set
- Integration of the proposal into the hotel's business model
- Continuity of action over time
- Contribution to the improvement of the Tourism Sector (proposals that can be exported to other hotels)
How to participate
Applicant hotels may submit a maximum of three applications, one for each category. To do so, you must complete the registration form that you can find at the bottom of this same website.
Each application may submit up to five CSR actions carried out by the hotel and related to the topic of the category. The Award Organization states that the same CSR action may not be submitted to more than one category.
