Fundación InterMundial hosts the National Responsible Traveler Meeting

On April 7th and 8th, León will host the world's largest gathering of responsible travel bloggers for the "I National Responsible Traveler Meeting", a highly significant event promoted by the InterMundial Foundation, the Provincial Council of León, and the Responsible Tourism Institute, which will bring together top-tier travel bloggers and influencers, as well as the most prominent expert voices in responsible tourism.

The Sierra Pambley House Museum will be the venue for this meeting, which aims to highlight the key role tourists must play in driving sustainable trends through the selection, recommendation, and consumption of sustainable tourism products and experiences. The event will feature several thematic blocks developed through round-table discussions with the participation of up to 100 travel bloggers who will be attending.

The presentations will feature some of the most important and recognizable voices in the field of responsible tourism. Miquel Silvestre, presenter and producer of the television program Diario de un Nómada, will moderate the first panel, which will also include Nacho Dean (the first Spaniard to walk around the world, author of the book Libre y Salvaje, and 2015 Prince of Asturias Award nominee), Rebeca Serna (manager of the blog Viajeros 3.0 and president of Castilla y León Travel Bloggers), and Iosu López (co-manager with Alberto Menéndez—a speaker on the second panel—of the project MochilerosTV.com, the largest community of backpackers and low-cost travelers in Spain).

The second panel will be moderated by Womanword, joined by Cristina Spínola (the first Spanish woman to cycle around the world), Antonio Quinzán, Marta Goikoetxea (from the blog Rojo Cangrejo and host of the travel TV show Viajeras con B), Sarah Dodd (influencer and TED Talk speaker who has visited over 80 countries), and Alberto Menéndez (MochilerosTV.com).

Over the course of these two days, participants will immerse themselves in Leonese culture firsthand through various activities that will ensure an unforgettable experience, framed—as it should be—within the context of responsible, high-quality tourism. Among other iconic locations, they will visit the Cathedral of León, one of the greatest architectural examples of European Gothic, and the Valporquero Cave, a network of complex and diverse geological formations in the Los Argüellos Biosphere Reserve.

Finalists for the first edition of the Responsible Blog of the Year Award

During the meeting, the awards ceremony for the Responsible Blog of the Year Awardwill take place, an initiative by the InterMundial Foundation to recognize blogs that promote and disseminate practices contributing to responsible and sustainable tourism through their content.

For this edition, the jury—composed of a committee of sustainability experts from both the InterMundial Foundation and the Responsible Tourism Institute—has selected the following travel blogs as finalists for the award: Mi Ruta, A World to Travel, and Vivir para Viajar.

The winner of this first edition of the award will be announced on Saturday, April 7th, at 8:00 PM.
