InterMundial Foundation supports the "Accessible India" project
The project is an initiative by Sociedad Geográfica de las Indias and PREDIF and will be presented tomorrow, September 1st, in Madrid.
InterMundial Foundation, a non-profit organization from InterMundial, a broker specializing in travel insurance, is sponsoring the "Accessible India" project, an initiative by Sociedad Geográfica de las Indias and PREDIF (State Representative Platform for People with Physical Disabilities). "Accessible India" is the first accessibility audit of India as a tourist destination and will be presented tomorrow, September 1st, in Madrid.
Francisco Sardón, president of PREDIF, and María Hernández, the organization's Communications Director, traveled to India in June in collaboration with Sociedad Geográfica de las Indias to analyze the accessibility of 9 hotels and 12 monuments in the country, several of which are World Heritage sites. This work is reflected in the "Accessible India" dossier, which will be presented on September 1st in Madrid.
The audit, which began in New Delhi, measured and documented all the parameters required to consider a facility accessible, such as the adaptation of rooms and restrooms, door widths, flooring materials, ramps, and more.
"Projects like 'Accessible India' are essential for making the principle of equal accessibility a reality in the tourism sector," says Manuel López, trustee of the InterMundial Foundation. "At the InterMundial Foundation, we are very proud to be part of a project that is as exciting and inspiring as it is necessary."
