From civil to criminal liability: risks assumed by congress organizers
InterMundial hosted a working breakfast on event protection at OPC Madrid.
InterMundial, a broker specializing in travel insurance, hosted a working breakfast this morning at the Association of Professional Congress Organizers of Madrid and Central Spain (OPC Madrid). The presentation, led by David Hoyos, managing attorney at Tourism&Law—a law firm specializing in tourism and part of the InterMundial Group—focused on protection in professional event organization, reviewing the most common incidents and offering potential solutions.
Hoyos analyzed various scenarios involving common problems in the organization and execution of professional events, illustrating them with real-life cases and tailored solutions. From incidents related to the civil liability of the PCO to more complex cases involving the criminal or financial liability of the organizer, the breakfast provided a detailed look at the different insurance policies available to address specific issues. "It's not about being over-insured, but about having a policy that fits our needs," notes David Hoyos.
The session, aimed at members of OPC Madrid, was held at Casa de América (Madrid) at 9:30 a.m.
