Evelop, the airline of Ávoris, the travel division of Grupo Barceló, is offering passengers traveling to Havana, Punta Cana, and Cancún complimentary travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage. Additionally, these travelers can benefit from reduced rates on PCR, serological, or antigen tests. As part of the relaunch of its Caribbean operations and resulting from an agreement with InterMundial, Evelop has included travel insurance at no extra cost—regardless of the fare booked—in its "Evelop te cuida" (Evelop takes care of you) program, which focuses on health safety during travel. The airline is adapting to current demand by providing its passengers with essential protection, including up to 35,000 euros in medical assistance expenses, coverage for extended stays in the event of a COVID-19 medical quarantine, and PCR testing at the destination, provided it is considered a diagnostic test after visiting a hospital with symptoms. Furthermore, the insurance provides free telemedicine services via an app during the passenger's stay. Through this agreement and in partnership with analizA laboratories, a leader in diagnostic services, Evelop provides its customers with access to various COVID-19 detection tests at preferential rates. Passengers flying with Evelop can benefit from reduced prices on PCR, serological, or antigen tests based on their needs. With this initiative, Evelop is responding to the growing demand for diagnostic tests from travelers, who will now have access to a wide network of over 400 laboratories across the country. Manuel López, CEO of InterMundial, highlights the importance of democratizing access to diagnostic testing in a local setting and providing travel assistance that meets the highest quality standards. In this regard, López underscores Evelop's pioneering effort, noting that "only through health awareness and by facilitating access to diagnostic tests will we have the guarantees that allow us to return to flying with complete peace of mind." For his part, Paul Verhagen, Deputy General Manager of Evelop, comments on how "Evelop te cuida" is the answer to the need for travelers to fly safely, as these measures provide great peace of mind to our passengers during pre-flight, airport transit, the flight itself, and post-flight phases. Additionally, "Evelop te cuida" includes a protection kit provided to each passenger at boarding, consisting of a mask, gloves, and a disinfectant wipe. It is worth noting that Evelop's flights to the Caribbean are operated using Airbus A350 aircraft, which feature the most advanced biosecurity and high-efficiency cabin air filtration measures. Evelop's Airbus A350s, like the rest of the airline's fleet, are equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters that provide the highest level of filtration available for air recirculation within the aircraft, eliminating more than 99.9% of micro/nano particles, viruses, and bacteria, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.
