InterMundial Foundation, FITUR, and the UNWTO announce the finalists for the 3rd Responsible Tourism Awards
Madrid, January 16, 2020.
The InterMundial Foundation has announced the names of the ten finalists for the third edition of the Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Awards organized in collaboration with FITUR and the World Tourism Organization. This award, which recognizes the commitment of tourism companies working toward the development and implementation of tourism that is responsible toward the environment, the economy, and the local community, has received a total of 53 entries from seven countries: Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil, and France.
The Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Awards, promoted by the InterMundial Foundation, consist of five categories, all of which must meet an essential general criterion: the promotion of responsible tourism that gives back to society, fosters respect for the environment and the host community, and encourages sustainable economic growth. In addition, when selecting the finalists, the jury took into account the originality of the proposal and its integration into the business model, the achievement of set objectives, the long-term continuity of the initiative, and the contribution to the improvement of the tourism sector (proposals that can be exported to other companies).
