Active Tourism insurance is now a reality
As part of the shift in habits following the coronavirus health crisis, travelers have adapted to a new way of living and traveling. Among the new travel experiences gaining traction in user preferences, so-called Active Tourism is emerging as an unstoppable winning trend for the coming months. Active Tourism encompasses trips that involve some form of activity, typically carried out outdoors, where the risk of viral transmission is lower.
Aware of this growing trend, InterMundial, a travel insurance specialist with over 25 years of experience, has designed two unique products for the market to protect both travelers who prioritize this type of open-air leisure and the service providers who facilitate adventure activities. In this way, InterMundial, which already redesigned all its products in May to include specific COVID coverage, is now adding two insurance policies to its portfolio:
Adventure and Active Tourism Accident Insurance. This protects both organizing companies—preventing them from incurring additional costs by covering incidents at facilities and those caused by activity instructors—and the traveler, who is automatically insured to enjoy their leisure time with peace of mind. The benefits offered by this accident insurance include medical assistance, helicopter rescue, dental expense coverage, and travel expenses in the event of hospitalization, among others.
Adventure and Active Tourism Liability Insurance. Valid for all regions and offering the highest coverage on the market, this insurance is specifically designed to provide protection against any situation subject to a claim, with all Civil Liability guarantees included in a single policy.
Both products cover more than 150 leisure and adventure activities such as: camping, cultural tours, mountaineering, trekking, or hiking, with limits reaching up to 1 million euros in protection depending on the chosen plan.
